The benefits of proper hydration are seemingly endless. From increased mental alertness to preventing constipation, there are so many reasons to make getting enough water a priority.

This is especially true for older adults, who often are dehydrated, despite not feeling thirsty. For seniors, drinking enough water is vital.

But not all water is created equal. As Debbie Jackson, national sales account manager for Waterlogic of Burr Ridge, warns, tap water, bottled water and even some filtered water contains unwanted contaminants and chemicals.

“There are many points of contamination that could make us sick,” Jackson said.

Waterlogic’s line of products use a unique technology approved by the Water Quality Association to provide the cleanest water for home, office and facilities such as nursing homes and hospitals, Jackson said.

Waterlogic’s Hybrid unit works more quickly than most filtration pitchers, Jackson said. The Hybrid takes up no more room than a kettle or coffee maker and keeps up to 1.5 liters of clean, filtered water on hand. The Hybrid, which requires access to an electrical outlet, filters tap water and dispenses water at room temperature.

The Countertop model dispenses cold, room temperature and hot water at the touch of a button. It requires connection to a water line as well as an electrical outlet and provides limitless amounts of water at whatever temperature the user desires.

Jackson said Waterlogic systems are faster than pitcher filters and remove 99.9 percent of contaminants, including viruses, from the water you drink.
